SThese contain a magnificent collection of over three thousand relics which during the 18th Century were collected and catalogued by the then villa's owner, Bishop Marcantonio Lombardo, in order to avoid them being stolen by invaders..
The Church of San Martino was first built around 1400 and probably extended and changed to its current form during the 1700's, when it became the villa's patrician chapel. It is still consecrated and opened each year on 11th November to celebrate the saint who gives it its name.
